Initial Consultation

Our initial consultation is your first point of contact with Cognition. It is during this meeting where we can discuss your assessment needs or the assessment needs of your child.

The initial consultation lasts for 90 minutes and will be conducted by our Consultant Clinical Psychologist. You will be asked for detailed background information about yourself or your child and you might be asked to complete some brief assessment questionnaires. We might also ask you to bring or send us previous medical or school reports to help us with our assessment.

Following the initial consultation you will be provided with a written report summarising the information you have given us; our conclusions and recommendations; and whether or not we feel a diagnostic assessment is warranted.
